About
Geneticats is an Educational Game in Portuguese aimed at facilitating the learning of high school Biology Genetics content. The application presents the contents in a playful way, through simulation of crossing between kittens, allowing the user to see the characteristics being passed hereditarily and learn the role of genes in this process.
The application was developed for the Ask Biology Research Project, held at IFRN – Campus Parnamirim. Ask Biology aimed at building applications that would assist in the teaching of biology.
The project was developed in C# language, with Unity as the development engine. The game was designed for the mobile platform and was released on the Playstore in November 2018. You can download and check it out here.
The Geneticats had an article published by SBGames 2018 in short paper format, which was exposed at the event in Foz do Iguaçu between October 29 and November 1, 2018. The presentation of the paper was also news on the Portal IFRN.
Geneticats was also presented as a workshop at Genetica na Praia, which was part of Engene 2018. The workshop took place on November 28, 2018, in Natal, RN, Brazil.
As a research project conducted by students of the computer technician course, in addition to the students involved, we also had advisors on the Biology and Programming subjects. We have a list of the participants of the project below.

Observations
This post was written to describe a project I participated in, the same way I did with other blog posts. Therefore, it is not an official post that represents the project and its authors. For more detailed information about the project, read our published article.
